Covering 754 square kilometers, Kinabalu Park was designated as a park in 1964 and is now a World Heritage Site.Following a report by the Royal Society Kinabalu Scientific trip in 1962–1964, which was headed by Prof. Corner, the foundation for the creation of a protected area in Kinabalu was established. In the state of Sabah in Malaysian Borneo, it is the first park. The highest mountain between the Himalayas and New Guinea, Mount Kinabalu (4,095.2 m), is its primary feature.
