Trongsa is a historically significant, idyllic town in central Bhutan, perched on a steep ridge overlooking the Mangde Chhu river gorge. Meaning "new village" in Dzongkha, it served as the ancestral seat of the Wangchuck dynasty and is the traditional gateway connecting eastern and western Bhutan.

Both the first and second kings ruled the country from here before the establishment of the absolute monarchy in 1907. You can reach Trongsa from different ways like there are direct flights, direct trains as well as direct buses services available for Trongsa. By Air : Trongsa does not have its own commercial airport. To travel there by air, you must fly to Paro International Airport (PBH), Bhutan’s only international hub, and then complete the rest of the journey by road.
